    Mego Employment is excited to expand their business and work with both small and large companies around the South West. We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Legal Secretary / PA to join a very busy Solicitor Firm in the Plymouth area.

    This position is a Full Time Contracted position covering Maternity Leave for 10 months. This role however for the right candidate could become more long term to join the team on a permanent basis.

    The primary role of the legal secretary is to provide direct support to the Director in Family Law to enable the Director to operate at optimum efficiency.

    The legal secretary is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

    Required qualifications, skills and experience

    Trained in secretarial practice

    High level word-processing, audio-typing skills and confident with professional document completion.

    Preferably previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of working in an alternative professional office.

    High degree of organisational skills and file management.

    Main Responsibilities

    To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing, word processing and various software packages.

    To administer filing which will include daily filing together with opening and closing files.

    To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch in electronic and hardcopy format.

    To arrange for all copying and scanning for the Director to be completed.

    To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary for the Director.

    To prepare the conference room for meetings as necessary and for the tidying and clearance of the room at the end of the meeting.

    To provide refreshments for clients and stakeholders.

    To provide support to other employees as required.

    To attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.

    To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.

    To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information
