Mego Employment LTD is thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a Quality/Health and Safety Manager to join our client’s team-a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke paediatric equipment for children and young people with special needs.

Ideal Candidate Profile: The perfect candidate will have substantial experience in a production or factory environment, focusing on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices, alongside continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Overview: In this crucial role, you will be pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the production environment. Your contributions will ensure compliance with health and safety standards and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques, including FMEA, C&E, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D, and Kaizen.
  • Manage registers for hazardous materials, compliance, and risk assessments.
  • Generate and review risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist field staff in creating effective risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents and provide comprehensive reports on root causes.
  • Offer expert advice on health, safety, and environmental matters.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health & safety, quality, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • In-depth understanding of relevant HS&E legislation and its application to site activities.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Experience working in compliance with ISO 9001 (ISO 13485 & ISO 14001 experience is desirable).
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing a lean manufacturing culture.
  • Experience in change management.
