About the Role
We are recruiting for a Chef to join our client’s Café, based in Buckfastleigh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a popular café known for its quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to using fresh ingredients.
Working within a busy kitchen environment, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen while delivering a great customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch and daily specials to a high standard
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Managing food preparation and ensuring efficient kitchen operations
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock rotation
- Working collaboratively with the front of house and kitchen team to deliver excellent service

About You
Essential:
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Passion for producing high-quality fresh food
Desirable:
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Experience creating daily specials and seasonal menu items
- Experience within a café or daytime dining environment
