About the Role
We are recruiting for a Brake Press Operator / Machinist to join a well-established British manufacturer based in Buckfastleigh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected company renowned for quality craftsmanship and the manufacture of premium wood-burning stoves and metal products.
Working within a busy production environment, you will be responsible for operating brake press machinery, producing high-quality components to specification, and supporting efficient workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brake press machinery to manufacture components to specification
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and production instructions
- Carry out quality checks on finished products
- Ensure machinery is operated safely and efficiently at all times
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
About You
Essential:
- Previous brake press operating or machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment
Desirable:
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication
- CNC brake press experience
- Previous engineering or manufacturing background
