Why Mego?

We are established recruiters in the South West, specialising in manufacturing and the service industries around airports. We are based in Totnes with an office in the heart of the town right next to the River Dart. As most of us sail, kayak, paddle or swim (or just enjoy looking at the river) that seems most apt. True to our ethos as embedded recruiters, we also have an office at Bristol Airport where we are closely involved in services such as driving, passenger services and security.

We delight in being different. Our clients are our priority, and that puts customer service and commitment right at the top of our values. We know that’s easy to say, but the proof is in the longevity of our client relationships. We’ve been working with most of our clients for over ten years and some have been with us for a lot longer.

Trust

We are so much more than simply recruiters. Many of our clients have worked with us for years and we’ve built up deep levels of trust and understanding with them. As fully embedded recruiters, we’re part of the Operations team and are trusted to manage our staff on-site being accountable for delivering operational outcomes. We also manage staff deployment, carry out on-site induction, work with managers on forward planning and of course, help them with the ebb and flow of workforce supply requirements.

Tailored

We recruit for both temporary and permanent roles and for some clients, people we recruit can move from temporary to permanent employment. It’s a cliché, but every client needs something tailored to their circumstances and we have the experience and flexibility to support businesses with complex and changing workforce requirements.

People matter to us. We’re an ethical and fair employer ourselves, and we expect the same from the clients we work with. Our average contract length is over 10 years, which is rare in the recruitment industry. Meet the Team

Chris Leonard

Chris Leonard

Managing Director

Chris founded Mego in 2004 having moved his family down from London in 2002. Prior to this he co-founded and built a national recruitment agency, Securicor Recruitment Services (SRS), which was sold to Randstad in 1999. 

Chris then when on to launch the world’s first online temp agency, Tempz.com, which he head-quartered off-shore in St. Helier, Jersey and which helped define the future shape of recruitment businesses.

During his 37 years working in the recruitment industry Chris has served as a director of the recruitment industry’s trade body, the Recruitment & Employment Confederation and as the UK’s representative at the World Employment Confederation.

And as a high-profile influencer helping shape the future of the industry in the 90s he was invited to deliver a key-note speech at the first ever World Leaders in Recruitment Conference in London in 1997.

Before entering the recruitment industry Chris served for 7 years as an infantry officer in the regular army then became a pro-windsurfer and mountaineer.

Chris has since grown Mego over the last 19 years into a highly respected and valued recruitment partner supporting major employers across the South West, uniquely positioning Mego as ‘embedded recruiters’ which results in enduring client relationships.

Chris has also served as a Trustee of two charities; The ‘C’ Group which helps wounded Royal Marines transition into civilian employment and LandWorks which provides a supported route back into employment and the community for those in prison, serving community sentences or on probation.

In his spare time Chris loves walking on the moor, sailing off the South Devon coast and fronts a rock band.

Victoria is born and bred in Bristol but has been based in Devon for many years. A powerhouse of energy, Victoria works with senior management teams to manage client relationships, working collaboratively with clients to solve problems, create recruitment solutions and oversee operational issues such as pay bands, job descriptions and induction processes.

With a background in manufacturing and management, Adam recently joined the team at Mego and works closely with Victoria as a team to deliver the high levels of service clients expect and deserve. He manages the candidate matching team at Mego and is responsible for operational issues including compliance. His operational experience puts him in an excellent position to support our manufacturing and airport clients.
